The butterfly species Vanessa cardui, commonly known as the painted lady, is an amazing insect traveller. It is possible to find it in the five continents and it migrates all the year around.
Our team is working hard for a better understanding on how, where and when these butterflies fly from one place to another. We do fieldwork to record their presence and observe their behavior, and we collect some specimens for experimental work in the laboratory.
